Peace Of Mind

Peace of mind

I have 2 children of driving age so I understand the anxiety facing parents when their children ask for lessons, then even worse- they pass their test and get a car!!!

I do not believe in teaching a person to ‘just’ pass their test, I firmly believe in encouraging safe driving for life – an ethos very much at the heart of the Driving Standards Agency and I’m sure every parent whose children have aspirations to hit the open road!

Whilst this does not mean driving courses will drag on, anyone learning to drive with me will understand what is being asked of them, the reasons why and the possible consequences when we don’t quite get it right.

Our roads are getting more and more congested, with driving standards dropping and more aggressive driving techniques on the increase it’s important any new driver feels they are fully equipped to cope with these situations.

As part of the standard course of lessons pupils will be shown skills in reading the road ahead, anticipating other road users and driving defensively.  I will encourage all pupils to think for themselves and make early, positive decisions in their driving.

I also cover practical tips such as filling up the car with fuel (the RIGHT fuel), the theory behind changing a wheel, checking tyre pressures, checking under the bonnet, safety tips and advice for lone drivers, especially women.

I hope if you are a parent reading this you will see I take the responsibility of teaching your son or daughter very seriously and I hope we can work together to encourage safe driving for life
